When you want to buy something (a dress, shoes, etc.) but you know you SHOULDN'T, do you ever think, What would Carrie do? And we all know what Carrie would do in this situation :)
It's so much more fun to be irresponsible and just buy, knowing that everything will work out later. Sometimes I catch myself thinking, if Carrie can afford Manolos, I can afford a Diane von Furstenberg dress. I will be honest, I can rationalize just about any purchase. I never really got the chance to be a Carrie-like shopper. I got engaged right after I graduated college, so as soon as I started having an income above $7/hour, it was time to think about a place to live, "house stuff", etc. Don't get me wrong, my hubby has caught on to the fact that I love to shop, but I think he would be upset if I purchased Manolos or a Chanel without discussing it first. He's a guy, he just doesn't see these things as investments like I do :) Sometimes I just wish I could drive to my Chanel and purchase the bag of my dreams, and then deal with the consequences later. Being an adult = having responsibilities, which is so overated sometimes. So for now, my solution is to put aside money every times I withdraw cash and put it in my Chanel fund. I am getting sort of close to owning one :)
