Homemade Watermelon Margaritas

Watermelon is one of my favorite things about summer. I always associate watermelon with summer, especially with the 4th of July. We have some friends coming to stay with us for the 4th, so I was searching for some fun drinks to make. . and I happened to find a delicious-looking recipe for Frozen Watermelon Margaritas! Here it is (courtesy of the Food Network):

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups seedless (or seeded) watermelon, cut into 1-inch cubes, rind discarded before measuring
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime
juice
4 ounces tequila
2 ounces orange flavored liqueur
1 1/2 cups ice
Lime wheel or watermelon wedge, for garnish

Directions
Put cut watermelon in a plastic bag and place in freezer for a minimum of 2 hours. (If time does not permit this step, add a few extra ice cubes when blending, the difference is not that significant.)
Stuff all ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth. Garnish rim of glass with a lime wheel or a watermelon wedge and serve immediately.
I haven't made these yet, but they look yummy and easy to make.

I want everything in the J.Crew catalogue

J.Crew

I literally want everything in the new J.Crew catalogue. I think I need to win the lottery. . .

Am I the last person on Earth to jump on the bandwagon?

So after hearing about these items over and over again, I finally decided to try them out!

New Addictions
1.) NARS blush and lip gloss, both in Orgasm. All I can say is, I see why people say this is the best blush ever. The color seems like it would look nice on all skin tones. The lip gloss is a very flattering shade as well. Definitely glad I tried these out.
2.) L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray. It does make my hair feel silkly soft. So far so good on this one.
3.) Mad Men. I just started watching the first season of this show, and I am hooked. I love the wardrobes and the hairstyles in this show. I am continuing on to disk 2.
4.) Netflix. I finally tried this out. And I like it. It's nice to be able to rent older movies without feeling guilty about spending $5 to rent it. And the # of movies you watch is unlimited, so the quicker you watch the one you have, the more movies you will get to see per month. The only drawback is the mailing time.

Trip Recap: City #3 - Paris

After Barcelona, we headed to the one and only PARIS!!!!! All I can say about Paris is: GORGEOUS. I absolutely LOVED Paris. I could have stayed there forever. Everything about it was charming and beautiful. Just walking around the city is enough to make anyone happy. There was a language barrier here, but we managed. And the people weren't as rude as people made me think they would be. The food and wine were delicious. Here are some pictures:
The Louvre, where we saw the Mona Lisa.

Notre Dame Cathedral. Just absolutely gorgeous.

The Eiffel Tower at night, when it lights up.

Paris was definitely my favorite city. I would go back in a second! And the shopping was amazing! I bought myself some souvenirs - I will have to post pictures later!

Trip Recap: City #2 - Barcelona

After Dublin, the hubby and I hopped a plane over to Barcelona, Spain. I had been there before, but my hubby hadn't. I must say, I LOVE Barcelona. That's why I agreed to visit again :) We did a lot of sightseeing and a lot of tapas and sangria-ing. YUMMY. The food there was amazing!! The weather was gorgeous, like 80 degrees the entire time we were there. The beaches were lovely, the city was perfect, and all of Gaudi's work there was so interesting. We went to the Sagrada Familia, the Casa Mila, the Park Guell, the Maritime Museum, and the Gothic Quarter (among many other things!). We crammed so much in so we could see as much as possible! Here are some pictures of Barcelona:

Again, I loved this city and I would highly recommend visiting if you are ever in the area :)

Trip Recap: City # 1 - Dublin

So our trip was fabulous! The hubby and I had so much fun. Our first stop was Dublin, Ireland. We flew from LA to Dublin on Saturday morning. It was a long flight, but luckily we had individual TVs at our seats, so we could watch movies and TV shows. He's Just Not That Into You was one movie, so I definitely re-watched that. Once we landed in Dublin, we took a bus into the city center, and our hotel was walking distance. It was near St. Stephen's Green. Once we got settled into the hotel, we set out to explore Dublin. What a lovely city! It was the smallest of the cities we went to, so we could get around on foot. Midway through the day, we had to take a little nap (we were pretty exhausted), but that gave us enough energy to make it up until 11 or 12. We checked out the Temple Bar area for dinner, which was so cool! It's full of pubs and cute little shops. We went to this area every night for dinner. We checked out the Dublin Castle, the Guinness Factory, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and just hung out in pubs! One day we took a tour to Cork to see the Blarney Castle. We kissed the Blarney Stone of course :)

Here are some pictures of Dublin:

Grafton Street - this is where all the shops were. Very fun street!

We definitely had a blast in Dublin! I would recommend visiting! Next post I'll recap City #2!

I will soon be leaving on a jet plane. . . .

Flight To Dublin

I am planning to be comfy-casual on the flight, since it will be a long one. Plus I tend to get cold on planes, so I am keeping a fleece with my carry on!
I don't think I disclosed the cities I am visiting (there may be some hints in my comments :) )
But I will give you a hint and let you guess. And when I get back, I will post pictures and share my trip with you.
- I am visiting 4 different European cities
- Each city is in a different country.
- 2 cities are in one time zone and 2 cities are in another time zone
- Between the 4 cities, 3 different languages are spoken

Okay enough hints :)
I will say good bye to you on Friday before I leave

I am the worst packer ever. I am trying REALLY hard not to overpack this time without forgetting anything important!!! I already stocked up on Target's travel size toiletries - I imagine those will save me :). I am trying to learn how to be low maintenance for 2 weeks! I am only bringing 2 pairs of shoes!

I guess one way to look at it is: the less I bring, the more I can buy :)
