Two Questions. . .

1.) Has anyone ever done a spray tan? I want to do one before the Derby, so I am doing a test run tomorrow. I am doing an airbrush session, so someone sprays it on me rather than just standing in a booth. I know I need to exfoliate (which I did this morning), and shave beforehand. Anything else I should know? Does it look good? Oh they also told me to wear loose clothing.

More on the derby

So I have another dress that I am eyeing for the derby. . it's a Diane von Furstenberg silf chiffon dress (on the left) Then of course, there is the Kate Spade polka dot dress. Both of these are en route to me now, so I can see them both in person. Once I get them, I will post actual pictures. Ahh decisions decisions! Oh and the first day (the Oaks) isn't AS fancy as the actual Derby, so I think I will wear a pastel DVF wrap dress for that day.

Most Comfortable High Heel?

I need your advice. .. what is, in your opinion, the most comfortable high heel? Jimmy Choo? Christina Louboutin? Cole Haan??

Derby Dress

So I think I changed my mind and am going with this dress for the big day at the Derby:

This is also a Kate Spade dress. Same cut, just a different pattern. It is a light pink, you just can't really tell from the picture. What do you think of this one?

Also, I will be attending both days of the Derby. Of course the second day is the BIG one, but I think people still dress up on the first day. Here is what I am thinking about for day one. Is this fancy enough? Any one know?

J.Crew Lilac Shift Dress Review

So I finally got around to taking a picture of this (pup and husband were in bed early last night). I ordered an XXS. I usually wear a 0/XS in J.Crew (since XXS is rarely an option). I'd say it fits me pretty well in the body. I am not swimming in it, which is always nice. It is on the short side, but I don't think it's TOO short. What do you think? It is a very pretty dress. I tried it on with gladiators and a navy cardigan. I can't wait to wear it!

Derby Advice

Has anyone ever been to the Kentucky Derby??? Well, I am going this year, so I am on the hunt for a perfect outfit. Any advice? This is what I have in mind right now:

Weekend Trip to SF!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine flew by way too quickly, as usual! I took a short trip up north to San Francisco. I had so much fun! I stayed right by Union Square, so there was plenty of shopping and eating nearby! On Saturday I did some shopping and brought home these 2 beauties with me:

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I apologize that this post is so long overdue. Sometimes I don't know where the time goes and how things fly by so quickly!! It's already Wednesday some how! And even better, it's St. Patrick's Day! I hope you remembered to wear your green today! Since I am part Irish, you know I am wearing mine :)

Yep, I bought a YSL Muse Bag! It is a gorgeous navy color (not as bright as it looks in the picture). I bought the large size in Indigo. LOVE IT. I know it's been out for a while, but I can see why it's still so popular.

Last weekend we introduced Winston to the beach. He wasn't so sure about the waves, even though he LOVES water! He was definitely curious though!

Things that make me happy

I was inspired by Kathy at Two Hands Full of Daisies to post about things that make me happy. Work and life have been nuts, so this is a nice opportunity to stop and think about all the good things :) So here they are, in no particular order:

Starbucks. Yep, it's that simple. A yummy coffee will definitely brighten my day

Winston. All I have to do is look at his sweet face and all my stress melts away (OMG he was SO tiny when we brought him home!)

Fashion magazines. I love reading fun, mindless magazines after thinking so hard all day!

Red Wine. Do I even need to explain?

Shopping: Yes, retail therapy is a real thing

Being Pampered: mani-pedis, trips to the spa.

And of course, my friends and family! I love spending time with them!

Update

Sorry for being MIA for a while. . .work has been nuts. And let's just say I got sent to a VERY VERY cold location for work. It was 9 degrees when I woke up in the morning.. BURRRR! But now I am back and have defrosted a little, so I am back on the blog scene! I came home to a very anxious baby dog who missed me:


The hubby and I are making up for lost time by going out to a yummy dinner tonight at Koi in L.A., one of our favs. I can't wait!
There is one thing I need your help with. In April, I will be attending a very formal (I think) annual event. I will give you a hint: it's in Kentucky and horses are involved :) Any advice on what to wear???? I know I will need a fun hat, and a nice, spring, floral type dress. I just need some help picking out a dress! Any suggestions???
